Episode 3: A Tropical Cruise With A Mai Tai In Hand

<img src="https://assets.podomatic.net/ts/45/51/90/sheiladennison/3000x3000_14716239.jpg" alt="itunes pic" /><br />I sat down this evening and recorded another short episode, where I discussed some of the challenges I'm facing right now.

Everyone is feeling the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. All of us handle stress in different ways. This is me, in a very raw and real state. I know I'm not alone when I say that I've been stressed out lately. I work in the hospital, on the frontline, and my life has changed a lot since the virus hit.

I've been following its progression since January and I had to watch it unfold.

This independent journalist I follow (Frank Vaughan) predicted everything and it sounded outlandish at first but then slowly over the weeks I realized what he was saying was the truth.

To be completely honest with you all, it was a struggle to get this episode out. I've been having a really hard time getting in the right state of mind to record. I tried my best, despite dealing with some pretty intense anxiety.

I apologize for the background noises in this recording. It was recorded on my phone due to our equipment being stuck at my brother's studio.

Here's an incredibly cheesy quote that sums up this pandemic period quite well: When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile.

I chose to include the song: The Call to Adventure in this episode because I think that the story of the Hero's Journey is such an important life lesson to us all, no matter what age.

I believe it's something that a lot of today's youth have not been able to grasp. It is the reason that a lot of them are lacking a sense of purpose and meaning.

We should all be adopting our own call to adventure. To lead a successful life, you need set a course for your individual respective journey. There will be plenty of obstacles along the way...

Life is not a tropical cruise with a Mai Tai in hand. I heard Dr. Peterson say this and it seemed like the perfect name for this episode.

There’s lots of times in your life that you’re not going to be happy… You want to have something meaningful – that’s the boat that will take you through the storm.” –Jordan Peterson

<img src="https://assets.podomatic.net/ts/45/51/90/sheiladennison/3000x3000_14709255.jpg" alt="itunes pic" /><br />Hey everyone.

It's been a whirlwind of a month for The Dennisons. We recorded this on October 22nd but due to personal issues/busy schedules/our family dog Jessie passing away, we left it sitting at the studio unedited until this weekend.

Also with Sheila working and living in Ottawa, we rarely get a chance to sit down together for an extended period of time and work on this project. We want that to change. We started this knowing that life's obstacles would be in our way. We are going change our process to better accomodate our hectic schedules. We are working on getting some more microphones so that we can conduct interviews.

Now it's time to hunker down for the winter, as we have a lot of work to do to accomplish these goals and to produce the quality content we know we are capable of. We might be silent for the next little while, but know that we are still here, optimizing our productivity *shoutout to The Wavelord @AkiraTheDon
